What the mind thinks,
Ether One is a first person adventure that deals with the fragility of the human mind.
There are two paths in the world you can choose from. At its core is a story exploration path free from puzzles where you can unfold the story at your own pace.
There is also a deeper, more adventurous path in which you can complete complex puzzles to restore life changing events of the patient's history in order to help the validation of their life.
“The world of Ether One is a superbly detailed and well thought-out place.”
“Ether One might well represent the apex of its particular subgenre. It engages the player at every level they might want to engage it, and rewards them handsomely for plunging into its depths.”
"When Ether One has you stumped, you’re missing the obvious. For an adventure puzzle game that’s the Holy Grail."
"Ether One made me feel something very real in a time of immense difficulty in my life. For that, I thank it."
"It's very Dickensian"
"Those who don’t bother will miss a significant portion of the experience. Thus, even though the developers let you choose either one, I only recommend Ether One!"
"Ether One is an exceptional example of what can be done with simple game design. It has a quality not commonly seen in smaller indie titles, and the courage to do things a little differently."
"BioShock may have laid the groundwork for experimental adventures such as this, but Ether One has raised the bar for the genre, and for VR experiences within."
"There are games that are so powerfully crafted, that the emotional response –by the time the game ends– is overwhelming. Then, all you can do is ponder everything that happened. You just sit there. You’re sad. Upset. Satisfied."
"Don’t be surprised if you find yourself writing emails to people you’ve lost touch with afterward. This is one of those stories that makes you care all the more about the things you have in the real world."
Unfold the story and explore freely without puzzle mechanics - immersing yourself wholly in the narrative
